Session on Communication at the Sub-National Training of Trainers on Malaria Elimination

New Concept facilitated a session on 'Communication' during Sub National training of trainers on Malaria Elimination in India on 8th Dec 2017, organised by WHO and NVBDCP in Delhi.

Our lead trainer from New Concept, Dr. Amarnidhi facilitated the session with a brief presentation on SBCC in the context of Malaria and broad segmentation of target audience for communication. The presentation was followed by group work. Read more...

Dhaara Seminar 4: Social & Behaviour Change Communication, Training Methodologies – Experiences successfully concluded on 21st November 2017 at New Delhi

New Concept delivers lectures on Social and Behaviour Change Communication (SBCC) at Jamia Milia Islamia in New Delhi

IMG-20171005-WA0001.jpg New Concept was invited by AKJ Mass Communication Research centre, Jamia Milia Islamia University in New Delhi to deliver lectures on Social and Behaviour Change Communication (SBCC) to the students of 1st year, development communication. The lecture covered an overview of the evolution of development communication from IEC to SBCC. The team members from New Concept also discussed about measuring changes in the context of IEC/BCC activities for Kala-azar Elimination in Bihar, Jharkhand and West Bengal. These two lectures were delivered by two senior members of New Concept S Raghavan, Director and Pravin Ramteke, Senior Manager – Research & Communication.

Harnessing the Power of Women Collectives to Promote Women’s Nutrition

Harnessing the Power of Women CollectivesStunting in children is a measure of chronic undernutrition with profound irreversible adverse consequences. Childhood stunting is the most prevalent form of undernutrition in India and most severe in tribal population. The mechanisms to deliver the essential nutrition interventions for women do exist but are managed by multiple departments, with weak coordination. Community engagement in improving last mile delivery of health and nutrition interventions has been researched and valued, but has largely remained honorary work.

This study assesses feasibility of community collectives as a funded stakeholder (partner) for improved delivery of essential women's nutrition interventions in tribal pockets/hamlets with high prevalence childhood stunting.

A Useful Tool for Vaccine and Cold Chain Handlers

Handbook for Cold Chain HandlersThe Government of India is keen to attain global standards for its Immunization Program and several initiatives have been taken recently in this direction. As India hopes to reach at least 90% full immunization coverage over the next five years, it is critical to strengthen the immunization supply chain in the country. With the advent of newer technologies in temperature monitoring, cold chain storage and transportation equipment especially using green energy, stock and inventory management, there is a high potential to improve the existing system.

The Handbook will also prove useful in understanding of various immunization related Management Information Systems (MIS) such as National Cold Chain Management Information System (NCCMIS), electronic Vaccine Intelligence Network (eVIN) etc.
