We offer the following services for our offshore clients:
Editing
– The documents which come to New Concept are taken up for editing, copy-editing or proof-reading by conforming to an agreed standard.
- Editing including rewriting
Rearranging and rewriting paragraphs as necessary to improve clarity and flow of ideas; and editing sentences to remove ambiguous references, repetitions, awkward transitions, and wordiness.
- Copy-editing
Checking for grammar, punctuation, spelling, capitalisation, formatting, conformance to standard or client-specified style guidelines, and consistency; repairing sentence structure and tense; querying the author for gaps and clarifications
- Proof-reading
Comparing an edited document against its original to verify accuracy; or checking typeset pages against copyedited pages to ensure all changes were made; or reading typeset pages for typographical errors such as a missing quotation mark, error in spacing or spelling.
Design and layout
–Housing a bunch of experienced designers, with keen design sense and knowledge of design software, New Concept undertakes each task with rigour. We follow a design checklist for each client or the client’s brand guidelines, wherever applicable. Our work is enriched with realistic illustrations – simple line drawings, conceptual illustrations, specialised high detailed style, colouring – out of the box design styles, colour combinations backed by the team’s in-depth knowledge of current design softwares.
The production floor is in sync with the latest technology, using the very latest versions of design softwares including Indesign, Photoshop, Illustrator, CorelDraw, Pagemaker, Flash and others. Periodic internal capacity building exercises under the able guidance of experts is undertaken to help us in maintaining pace with the fast changing technology.
Once the design is approved, the layout of the document involves placement of text and graphics of a document, placing emphasis on key conclusions and making it aesthetically appealing.
Printing
– Once the document is finalised, the document is released for printing. Offset printing is widely used for producing reports. Laser printing is opted for in case of lesser number of copies.
- Positives and ammonia proofs are checked by the Production Manager and Project Coordinator to ensure quality control
- Printing Coordinator checks the colours, paper quality and printing quality in the press.
- A sample printed copy is sent for approval. Once it is approved, all the printed copies are bound.
Binding
– Binding is done using stitching, stapling or pasting. The types of binding are centre staple, perfect, wiro and spiral.
Translation
–Your translation needs are handled by professionals, who know the language and are experts in the specific subject area and the social development sector. We have been in this field for the last twenty-two years and have on our panel a team of highly qualified and experienced linguists who are experts in the field.
We have a very systematic and organised process in place. While the translation is going on, a few sample pages are back translated. The text is verified by another resource and then proof-read to weed out grammar and spelling errors.
e-Publishing and training
– Publishing on the internet is a cost effective and sure shot way of reaching a global audience with your information. Under this service we provide editing, design and layout of your document and publishing on the internet. Apart from publishing your documents online, our experienced team also helps create knowledge sharing through online repositories. We can digitize and archive your training material so that your stakeholders can gain from the internet experience and easily access training material from anywhere in the world. The training material can also be made interactive using video and audio platforms which can be added to your repository.
