Update on WSR Workshop held in Jharkhand

NRHM

Nearly 90 participants brainstormed on how to herald change amongst the youth of the state.

July 17-19 witnessed much activity, energy and interest at Hotel Citi Inn in Jamshedpur, Jharkhand where 90 participants converged to discuss, debate and reflect on the theme – “ Change for the Youth of Jharkhand – Youth Health & Fertility (HTSP)”. The participants were from government departments, corporate sector, civil society, partner agencies, culture and youth and academia.

The workshop started with traditional welcome by young girls of the Mahila Samakhya group, followed by a brief setting the context. Over three days, participants went through the entire process of the WSR. They explored the last two decades, looked at current trends with respect to HTSP and youth health on the mind map.

They created future scenarios of what they would like to see in the year 2020 in terms of youth and their health. They discussed and debated on common grounds and worked on broad directional action plans. They were also shown the network analysis that had been prepared by CMS.

The workshop was a success with nearly 90 participants actively deliberating on issues of concern. The “Change Group” which had worked towards the workshop with New Concept met briefly and took note of various follow-up actions that need to be taken.
